The Beverly Arts Center is proud to feature an exhibit of local artists whose work celebrates black culture, pride, race relations, and historic and current social issues. This exhibit will give a glimpse into the themes of the Harlem Renaissance and the Great Migration, times of significant and prolific artistic and literary blossoming for African American people.

Along with the exhibit, there will be two literary performances in partnership with Clissold Elementary School. Students will perform poetry works created during the Renaissance period and create new work in response to the themes and ideals of those important and vibrant times. The performances will take place in the gallery amidst the artwork to create a fully immersive experience. Performances will take place January 15 from 2-4pm and January 21 from 12-2pm.
